Describe entertainment services provided.
Jason Walsh Entertainment primarily focuses on Wedding Ceremony and Reception entertainment; this accounts for over 90% of annual clients. Jason also enjoys entertaining for a few non-profit organizations each year as one way of giving back to his community.

Joe Pachino Baltimore SunAwards achieved (include DJ and Non DJ awards): BADJA President’s AwardDJ Joe Pachino (for serving as BADJA president from 1/08 – 1/10), 2010 WeddingWire Bride’s Choice (DJ).

How did you get started in the DJ business?
Since I was young, I’ve always enjoyed music. After seeing a mediocre DJ at a high school dance in the early 1990’s, I decided that I could do a much better job with my outgoing personally and extensive music collection (for a high school student). I started out playing music for school dances and birthday parties and in 1995 decided that I wanted to learn more about weddings. I spent weekends as an assistant to some of the area’s top disc jockeys, often just volunteering my time so I could learn the skills necessary to “read a crowd” on the dance floor, or understand all of the working parts of a wedding reception. Over the past 15+ years I have entertained at more than 500 weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, school, and corporate events.

Do you have another job? Yes.

What is your entertainment approach to the evening?
Classy, but always fun… Limited announcements, beat-mixing your favorite songs, and ensuring you and your guests have a great time to guarantee a packed dance floor!

Why is a BADJA membership important to you as a DJ?
BADJA LogoAs a single-operator DJ company, my clients often ask if I have a “back up plan” just in case something should happen to me. Even though I am in my early 30’s and have never missed an event, it is reassuring to me (and my clients) to have a network of professionals that could help me in case of an emergency.

What personal hobbies, interests, or talents can you share that is not listed on your web site?
I enjoy bowling, fishing, and cheering on the Ravens, Orioles, and Terps. When I am not working I love to spend time relaxing with my wife and 18 month old son. I am a classically trained tenor, and cantor church services and special events.

What equipment do you use for your events?
100% professional equipment from Denon, JBL, Mackie, Numark, and Shure. I still prefer the sound and feel of CDs over the use of MP3s, although I do use a professional Denon MP3 media controller to “auto-pilot” music while I line up the bridal party or assist the bride and groom with any of their specific needs.
